As I mentioned in a previous post, Coach Adams is one of our favorite coaches to work with. If you didn't have the chance to read the Anchorpoint Football post you can click here to read it. The thing that's great about Coach Adams is he's willing to go the extra mile to get a great shot. He's open to new ideas and he usually has a couple ideas himself.
Well, being that Anchorpoint is located in Gilroy, we thought it would look cool to photograph the basketball team at a nearby barn. We wanted to create a kind of Hoosiers look to the photos. With that being said, Coach Adams worked it out for us to use a barn near the school for our photos, and it couldn't have been a better location.
When we were driving up to the location we knew it was going to be awesome. There was a tractor, plows, old tires, wooden gates and other structures for props, but it wasn't until we saw an old basketball hoop on the outside of one of the barns that we knew it was the perfect location. We couldn't have asked for a better day either. The sun was in a position where it would work as a great back light if we needed to use it, and the weather wasn't too hot either.
We thought the photos turned out great. In fact, the second photograph of number eleven holding the basketball and looking off is one of my favorite images to date. I absolutely love it.
A big thanks goes to Coach Adams for finding us an amazing location to shoot at, and to the Anchorpoint Christian Warriors basketball team for allowing us the opportunity to photograph you all! We hope you enjoy looking at the photos.
